Athona Education is seeking an enthusiastic Nursery Nurse for a Day Nursery within the Thurrock area. The successful candidate will be placed within the 18-24 month room where the position offered is expected to commence September 2012.
The ideal candidate will be extremely caring, supportive and patient with young children, and have a genuine passion for providing children with the best environment to begin their education in. The successful Nursery Nurse should have some knowledge of the EYFS framework and enjoy aiding children's positive learning and development.
The candidate will ideally be qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent and have strong experience working within a Nursery environment. SEN experience would also be advantageous but not essential.

They are now currently looking to recruit two Nursery Officers at their Openshaw and Moston Campuses.
As a Nursery Officer you will be responsible for providing a stimulating atmosphere through the EYFS framework, in order for children to develop to their full potential
As a Nursery Officer you will work as part of a team, ensuring that you interact with all of the children in your designated room. You will have responsibility for a family of key children and would be required to complete observations, learning journeys, tracking/monitoring of paperwork on time in a consistent manner and ensuring your key children’s development is being catered for. You will also be required to follow a nursery routine.
You must continually follow safeguarding, departmental and college policies and procedures to ensure the learning, growth and development of your key children.
The successful Nursery Officers will hold a level 3 Childcare qualification (NNEB/ GNVQ L3) coupled with previous childcare experience. In addition, you will need safeguarding, first aid and food hygiene experience.

Assistant Nursery Leaders are 17 years old and work alongside Nursery Leaders to instruct games and activities while monitoring the welfare of all the children aged three and four at camp. Full training and support is provided.
Nursery Leader
Nursery Leaders are 18+ will be working in a small team with the responsibility for the three and four year old campers. You will need great communication skills and be able to lead structured activities allowing incidental learning to take place, whilst continually being aware of the welfare of all the children. This would be a great addition to your CV especially for potential nursery nursing and primary teaching careers.
Full training and support is provided
Day Camps are located at superb venues in Ascot, Bromley, Esher, Mill Hill, Northwood, Wimbledon, Woodford, Reigate, Tunbridge Wells, Richmond and Blackheath.
