Overview of role
Hotel Saint Louis is our flagship hotel located in an enviable location just off the world famous Bellecote piste in Courchevel 1850. The bar of this hotel represents a massive revenue opportunity that has not been maximised in the past.
Your role will be to ensure the profitable running of the bar. You will need to exceed the financial targets set through correct pricing policy, promotions, new business ideas, stock/cash control and successful staff management
Accountabilities and responsibilities
Bar Management
* Stock control and ordering
* Development and implementation of promotions to drive revenue
* Drive sales of drinks and other bar income such as bar snacks.
Staff
* Train and develop staff to maximise performance, aid retention and reduce turnover.
* Supervise, lead and inspire the team - developing highly motivated, committed people
* The co-ordination of the workload of staff within the /bar.
* The communication of business and personal objectives for bar staff to ensure targets are met
* Ensuring employee motivation throughout the season remains at the highest possible level.
Quality Assurance/Customer Service
* Ensure all clients receive the highest level of service at all times. Resolve problems quickly and efficiently to ensure superior client satisfaction
* Supervise bar staff to achieve, and wherever possible exceed, set targets for customer satisfaction questionnaire (CSQ's) scores.
Sales
* Supervision and monitoring of the selling of food, drink(s) and where possible other bar services to clients
* Assisting with the setting up & selling of a profitable bar and terrace. Ensure maximum profitability whilst maintaining value for money and enjoyment for clients.
* To constantly seek out and introduce new revenue streams to increase resort profitability.
* Responsible for achieving and exceeding set resort sales targets.
* Ensure that the highest possible percentage of our clients become 'repeat clients in future seasons, through their enjoyment of their ski experience.
Other duties
* All team members based in France should expect to drive company vehicles in winter conditions, carrying passengers to and from the slopes. In addition to local resort driving, from time to time, we will expect all team members to be confident enough to run transfers to and from resort. This will involve picking up clients from local airports and safely driving them to our own run properties as well as our partnership chalets and hotels and in some cases, to other local resorts. This will involve driving in all weather conditions, on all types of terrain and may sometimes involve anti-social hours.
* During the season you may be required to work night shifts in order to ensure that our property is running efficiently at all times. Tasks may range from duty management, snow clearing, cleaning and any guest requests. Property operational times may vary depending on arrivals, departures and special events.
* As a supervisory member of the hotel team, you will be expected to act as a 'Duty Manager' on allocated shifts decided by the Resort Manager, this will involve you to act as the leader within the building, checking all operational areas are running smoothly, resolving staff, guest and building issues promptly and effectively (this may require you 'to think on your feet'!) and generally being present within the hotel public areas for the entire shift.
Key skills, experience, knowledge and competencies
* Available for the whole season along with some pre season preparations (early November - end of April)
* UK or EU passport holder
* UK National Insurance Number
* UK bank account
* At least 1 year supervisory experience within a bar environment
* Staff management experience in a bar environment
* Experience setting up a bar from scratch including stock ordering, staff training and the preparation of an attractive bar.
* A "can do" attitude to problem solving, determined to succeed
* Good time management, organisation and prioritisation skills
* Independent and able to work unsupervised
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Exceptional standards of cleanliness and hygiene on both a personal and professional level
* Smart personal presentation and appearance
* 2nd language preferred
