Activity Leader:
Embassy CES Summer is now recruiting Activity Leaders for summer schools based
in Bedford, Brinsbury, Bristol, Chipping Norton, Dublin, Eton, Kingswood, Leicester, London, Nottingham, Oxford, Reigate, Seaford, Southsea, Warminster, Woking.
We are looking for flexible, enthusiastic, creative and assertive individuals who are motivated and able to lead both on-site and off-site activities and excursions in an international summer school environment.
All Activity Leaders will be invited to an Activity Leader training day in London leading up to the start of the summer school programme. (Dates for 2008 to be confirmed). This training, lead by our experienced Programme Managers, will include training in both on-site and off-site activities. All participants will take part in a London walking tour, both to familiarise themselves with London and to give them vital skills needed in leading students around large cities and major tourist attractions.
In addition to the Activity Leader training day in London, all staff will be given an induction and on-site orientation on arrival at their centre. Activity Leaders will benefit from the on-going support of our experienced summer school management team.
Remuneration:
Under 22 years of age: £213 per week / Over 22 years of age: £255.45 per week
A deduction of £30 will be made for accommodation if required.
All Activity Leaders work 13 out of a maximum of 23 sessions per week with at least 1 full day off per week. The length of the activity session will vary due to factors such as the type of activity, age of students and distance of venue. 1 out of the 13 sessions will be made up of 4x 45 minute residential duties* (This will be on a rota basis)
* Non-residential staff will not be required to cover night duties.
As a member of the Activity team, your will be responsible for designing and implementing the on-site activity programme. You will also be responsible for supervising groups of international students on half-day and full day excursions. In
addition, you will be responsible for student welfare and pastoral duties together with other members of your team.
The role of Activity Leader is both challenging and rewarding and we are looking for staff who are prepared to work hard and to contribute to the success of the programme.
Applicants in the role of Activity Leader should demonstrate excellent organisational and interpersonal skills. Be able to work as part of a team and have good leadership skills. Be flexible and remain calm under pressure.
Qualifications:
We welcome all applicants with First Aid qualifications, lifeguarding or other coaching qualifications and previous experience of supervising minors and working in sport, leisure or similar industry.
